Alaska Salmon Fellows

Posted by Al Bolea in Insights, Leadership, Press Releases.

Those of you who have attended my leadership seminar will remember the quote by leadership guru Kim Krisco, “Unless you learn to recognize, manage, and shift out of past-domain conversations, you will never be able to deliver on your fundamental responsibility of a leader – creating and sustaining a viable future.” A quote from another guru, Otto Scharmer, “Conversations bring forth a world of possibilities through field pattern shifts … once a shift occurs it is re-enacted by all participants.” And lastly, I have spoken at great lengths about the magic of co-creating our future by participating in relationships. In fact, our current reality and future potential reflect the culmination of the relationships we choose to have.

Well, a new opportunity has become available to (1) shift out of past domain conversations, (2) shift the field pattern to new opportunities, and (3) co-create the future through new relationships.

I’m on the advisory board for the Alaska Salmon Fellows, a new organization sponsored by the Alaska Humanities Forum.  We are looking for 12 people to participate in four gatherings over an 18-month period to create new and stronger connections across diverse sectors that have a key stake in the future of Alaska’s salmon.  Ultimately, these 12 people will create a new level of influence that will affect change.

You can learn more at www.akhf.org/alaska-salmom-fellows or contact Kitty Farnham at 907-272-5324 and email kfarnham@akhf.org.

We are looking for people with relevant experience, demonstrated potential to contribute, interest, desire, and willingness.  Each Salmon Fellow will receive a $10,000 award.  Additional project grants will be available.  Costs for travel, lodging and food are covered.

Remember, opportunities to lead come by from time to time – we either grab them or we miss them.
